FAQ

Straight answers before you book, before your session, and while healing.

This page covers the questions clients ask most often about booking, preparation, pain, healing, aftercare, and cover-ups so the process feels clearer from the start.

Booking & Preparation

Everything that helps before the session even starts.

How do I book?

Send
Your idea, body placement, approximate size, and reference images through the booking page.
For Cover-ups
Include a clear photo of the current tattoo in neutral lighting so the direction can be judged honestly.
Best Approach
Be clear about the overall direction you want, but leave room for the design to be built properly for the body.

How should I prepare?

Before The Session
Show up fed, hydrated, rested, and in clothing that gives easy access to the area being tattooed.
Skin
Keep the area in good shape leading up to the appointment. Healthy skin makes the process easier.
Avoid
Do not show up depleted, hungover, or running on no sleep. That makes the session worse for no reason.

Pain, Healing & Aftercare

The questions people ask when they want the truth instead of filler.

How painful is a tattoo?

Reality
Pain depends on placement, session length, your tolerance, and how depleted you are when you show up.
Usually Worse
Thin skin, ribs, hands, feet, and areas with less padding tend to be more intense.
Usually Better
When you are rested, fed, hydrated, and mentally settled going in.

How does healing usually go?

Early Stage
The tattoo may feel warm, tender, and tight at first. That part is normal.
Mid Stage
Dryness, light flaking, and itchiness are common as the tattoo settles.
Important
Do not pick, overwork, or suffocate the tattoo. Let it heal without turning it into a battle.

What matters most with aftercare?

Keep It Clean
A clean tattoo heals better than one that is constantly irritated, overwashed, or handled too much.
Reduce Friction
Avoid rubbing, soaking, and anything that keeps aggravating the surface.
Follow Guidance
Healing can vary by placement, size, and skin, so follow the aftercare direction given for your piece.

What should I avoid while healing?

Do Not
Pick it, scratch it aggressively, or treat flaking like something you need to remove.
Avoid
Pools, hot tubs, and soaking the tattoo early in the healing process.
Keep In Mind
Overdoing aftercare can be just as stupid as doing none at all.

Cover-ups & Session Questions

Where most people can get a realistic answer.

Can any tattoo be covered?

No
It depends on saturation, placement, size, age, and what design you want over it.
Real Strategy
A proper cover-up starts with what must be controlled: value, shape, and how the old tattoo affects the new one.
Best Move
Send a clear photo first so the scope can be judged honestly.

How long does a session take?

Depends On
Placement, size, design complexity, detail density, and how the body handles the session.
Small Work
Can move fast. That does not mean it should be rushed.
Larger Work
Usually requires more planning, more stamina, and sometimes multiple sessions.

Can I bring reference images?

Yes. Good references help communicate direction, mood, structure, and what you are drawn to. They are there to guide the build, not force a copy.

What if I am not fully sure what I want yet?

That is normal. It still helps to know the body area, rough scale, and overall visual direction so the conversation can move somewhere useful.
